Aisha Jamila is an American actress, best known for her roles in the television shows The Shield and True Blood. She has demonstrated her versatility in 2003 with her outstanding performances on TV shows like 9-1-1 Detroit as well as 1-8-7 as well as Under the Dome. In 2005 she came under the spotlight initially for her role as Anna in Assault on Precinct 13 It was however her performance in the role of women's rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer in the biographical film All the Way that finally made her an actor. Hind's portrayal of Harriet Tubman on WGN America's time-based drama Underground was also highly appreciated. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. The show was renewed for the third season by 20th Century Fox Television. Hind has recently completed filming on the Hollywood movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters and will premiere in the second half of 2019. Her father Krishnaraj was who is an Army scientist who died on March 18 2017. She and her mother Vrinda are both housewives. Aditya is her elder brother who is also a merchant naval engineer. Her older brother, Aditya Rai coproduced and cowrote Dil Ka Rishta along with their mother. She was a student at Arya Vidya Mandir High School in Mumbai which is where her family moved to. After her release Provoked: a True Story in English, she returned to Bollywood and appeared in the blockbuster Dhoom: 2 (2007).
